Situated in the heart of the Bluegrass region in central Kentucky, the FCPS school district is the second largest in the state, serving approximately 42,000 students with a population that mirrors the diversity of the community. Our mission is to create a collaborative community that ensures all students achieve at high levels and graduate prepared to excel in a global society.
FCPS works closely with a variety of stakeholders to build the world-class school district our community deserves, including the University of Kentucky and other institutions of higher education; the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government; various civic, service, and faith-based organizations; and a range of corporate community members. The past several years have seen exceptional improvement in school and district academic performance, with Fayette County scoring among the highest performing school districts in Kentucky. In addition, Fayette County continues to concentrate on expansion of World Language and visual and performing arts programming. |
