Science Hill Independent School District is a unique preschool-eighth grade public school district located in Science Hill, Kentucky. The school was established in 1894 as a Legal Graded School and soon became the heart of the community. Throughout history, the school has been noted for its sense of tradition and academic excellence. The mission of the Science Hill Independent School District is to teach for learning by ALL students, working in a partnership with families and community, in an environment that nurtures that process and assures equity and excellence for all. To achieve this mission, an effective comprehensive curriculum and technological advancement in curriculum will be provided. To ensure strong public relations, effective lines of communication among parents, staff, students, and community will be established. Position Description: First Grade Classroom Teacher
The First Grade Classroom Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing a standards-based instructional program that supports the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth of all students. The teacher creates a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment while delivering high-quality instruction aligned to the Kentucky Academic Standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver effective daily instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and other required content areas.
Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress and guide instructional decisions.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
