Anderson County Schools, located in the heart of the Bluegrass in Lawrenceburg, KY, is dedicated to ensuring that all students are safe, reach high academic standards, and act as responsible citizens. Our district consists of six schools: Early Childhood Center (PK-K), Robert B. Turner, Saffell Street and Emma B. Ward elementary schools (grades 1-5), Anderson County Middle School (grades 6-8), and Anderson County High School (grades 9-12). Our staff provides rigorous and relevant educational opportunities for our 3800 students. Responsive to the needs of students, we provide advanced placement, dual-credit, gifted and talented, technical and vocational, and a complete range of special education services. In collaboration with administrators, our school board makes decisions that are always focused on doing what is best for our students. Anderson County High School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teacher to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of students with diverse learning needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality, standards-based instruction that meets the individual needs of learners while promoting student achievement and independence.
Responsibilities include developing and delivering engaging lessons, providing instructional support and accommodations for students with disabilities, maintaining accurate records and grades, monitoring student progress, and communicating regularly with students, families, and staff. The teacher will also be expected to foster a positive learning environment, support student success through effective classroom management, and address student discipline issues in accordance with school and district policies.
