Fleming County Schools is a rural school district situated on the cusp of the Appalachian foothills and the Knobs region of the state. The school district serves approximately 2380 students in six schools, 4 elementary, 1 middle school, and 1 high school. The four K-6 elementary schools serve the communities of Flemingsburg, Ewing, Hillsboro, and Wallingford and feed into the middle and high schools, located in Flemingsburg, which is also the location of the district office.
The district's enrolled demographics mirror that of the community. Fleming County Schools has 11 national board certified teachers. Of our highly qualified teachers, 53% hold a master's degree and 29% holding a Rank 1 certification. JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Pre-School Teacher
Responsible To: Principal Preschool Coordinator
Basic Function: Facilitate the potential development of the children in the areas of social/emotional, cognitive/intellectual, motor, language, and self-help.
Performance Responsibilities:
Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
Provide experiences which address all areas of child development.
Plan and manage the classroom schedule to ensure a balance of active and quiet experiences.
Arrange centers at a time to maximize the effectiveness of the collaborative team approach.
Maintain a clean, safe and inviting environment in which children can develop. |
