The Williamstown Independent School District, which opened in 1890, is one of the oldest continuously operated school districts in Kentucky. The campus is located on 98 acres just off Main Street in Williamstown. Our schools are staffed with highly trained and dedicated professionals, who provide individual attention to our students. The mission of the Williamstown School District is to engage, educate, and empower students for college and career readiness. Our goal is to enhnace our students' skills and knowledge to enable them to transition from school and become productive, contributing and responsible citizens. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs and learning styles of each student. Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Evaluates each student’s academic, behavioral, and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports on a regular basis. Communicates with students and parents through conferences and other means to discuss student progress and interpret the school program. Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude and learning problems.
