Our commitment to Knox County's children spans decades of service. We have six elementary schools with grades K-6: Central, Dewitt, Flat Lick, Girdler, Hampton, Lay; one middle school with grades 7-8-Knox Middle; one high school with 9-12 enrollment-Knox Central; one K-12 school-Lynn Camp; and two alternative education schools–Knox Appalachian School and the Learning Academy. The employees of the Knox County Public Schools strive to open students’ minds to a world of possibilities. We foster student progress and encourage family members and community to be full partners in ensuring success for all children. This system has a strong focus on curriculum and instruction with our decisions focused on teaching and learning. Our board of education meets monthly and begins each session by recognizing and rewarding student success. Our teachers are committed to the new national standards in order for all students to reach proficiency. We are preparing the next generation for a global economy. |
