Organization Information The mission of the Pikeville Independent School District is to provide a rigorous, relevant education in a positive, nurturing environment to develop each student as a lifelong learner and responsible citizen in a global community. All stakeholders strive to provide visionary leadership, sound fiscal management, high expectations, and quality instruction in a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment. Both Pikeville Elementary and Pikeville High School are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The mission is supported by a curriculum that includes technical, academic, and personal skills necessary for lifelong learning and a variety of extracurricular activities to address students' physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs. For nearly a century, Pikeville Independent has provided the Pikeville commuinity with institutions of learning that consistently rank among the top in Kentucky.
