Fleming County Schools is a rural school district situated on the cusp of the Appalachian foothills and the Knobs region of the state. The school district serves approximately 2380 students in six schools, 4 elementary, 1 middle school, and 1 high school. The four K-6 elementary schools serve the communities of Flemingsburg, Ewing, Hillsboro, and Wallingford and feed into the middle and high schools, located in Flemingsburg, which is also the location of the district office.
The district's enrolled demographics mirror that of the community. Fleming County Schools has 11 national board certified teachers. Of our highly qualified teachers, 53% hold a master's degree and 29% holding a Rank 1 certification. As other school districts face teacher turnover, Fleming County Schools has an average tenure length of 12.7 years. Responsible To: Principal
Basic Function: Instructional leadership and school management
Performance Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership
As delegated, manage an instructional program where teaching & learning and continuous improvement are priorities.
Develop a decision-making and communication structure that assures effective planning, communication, and problem solving with areas of responsibility.
Provide opportunities for each faculty and staff member to grow, develop, and experience success.
Faculty and Staff Personnel Management
Assist in managing faculty and staff in a manner which utilizes talent effectively, creating a positive school climate.
When asked to assist, utilize the faculty selection process to identify the most competent candidates. |
