Fleming County Schools is a rural school district situated on the cusp of the Appalachian foothills and the Knobs region of the state. The school district serves approximately 2380 students in six schools, 4 elementary, 1 middle school, and 1 high school. The four K-6 elementary schools serve the communities of Flemingsburg, Ewing, Hillsboro, and Wallingford and feed into the middle and high schools, located in Flemingsburg, which is also the location of the district office.
The district's enrolled demographics mirror that of the community. Fleming County Schools has 11 national board certified teachers. Of our highly qualified teachers, 53% hold a master's degree and 29% holding a Rank 1 certification. Position Title: Principal
Responsible to: Superintendent
Basic Function: Effective instructional leadership and overall school management.
1. Instructional Leadership - Manage an instructional program where teaching & learning and continuous improvement are priorities.
Develop a decision-making and communication structure that assures effective planning, communication, and problem solving with areas of responsibility.
Organize the school so that faculty and student assignments promote optimum use of talent, time, space, and resources.
Delegate authority and responsibility to assistants, faculty, and staff so that each person’s talents and interests are utilized.
Provide opportunities for each faculty and staff members. |
