One hundred forty-seven years ago, Paducah Independent School District opened its doors to offer a commitment to excellent education for the children of Paducah. More than 2,650 students attend our schools because of high expectations and award winning academic, arts and athletic programs. Paducah Schools boast 100% highly qualified teachers; fifty-three percent have master's degrees; twenty three percent hold Rank 1 certification, and nine teachers hold National Board Certification. PTHS ranks as a top provider in the state of quality Advanced Placement classes. The 2011 graduates earned over $3 million in scholarships. The buildings have been renovated to update energy efficiency, to reduce energy costs and to support the technology required in today's learning environment. Our graduates credit our schools as contributors to their successes. Those successes include a Nobel Prize winner, advanced degrees in many fields and philanthropic activities all over the world. |
