The Finance Officer serves as the financial leader, working with the superintendent, board, and school councils to align financial resources with district goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
Certification: Must achieve and maintain Finance Officer Certification through the Kentucky Department of Education.
Education/Experience: Generally requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, along with experience in public finance administration.
Training: Must complete the KDE training criteria and a year-long mentorship program.
Skills: Ability to understand and apply governmental accounting practices, conduct long-range fiscal planning, and communicate complex financial data effectively. |
