Owensboro Public Schools strive to educate the “whole child” so that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential and be successful in a global society. We believe that a balanced education which
incorporates academics, the arts, essential skills, and extracurricular opportunities will provide students with the foundation they need to be successful. The district's increasing enrollment has reached 5,175 for the 2022-2023 school year including students in preschool through 12th grade. The district is composed of five (5) elementary schools, Owensboro Middle School (6th-8th grades), Owensboro High School (9th-12th grades), Emerson Academy (7th-12th grades - alternative program), Hager Preschool (at-risk 3- and 4-year olds), and our project-based learning models located at Owensboro Innovation Middle School (6th-8th grades) and Owensboro Innovation Academy (9th-12th grades). All K-12th grade students are provided and/or have access to a District device.
