"STRIVING TO BE THE BEST WE CAN BE" is our district mission statement and a belief that we hold very dearly. Corbin Independent is recognized as one of the highest performing districts in the state, being ranked in the Top 3 districts each of the past two years. While we are certainly proud of our accomplishments, we recognize the potential and need for continued growth. Professional development for our teachers is a focus in our district and our school board has authorized an additional day of training above what is mandated by the state. Curriculum alignment with a strong emphasis on ongoing assessment has allowed us to continually monitor student progress at all of our schools and extend learning for advanced and struggling students. Common core standards in Math and Reading are being integrated in all grades in a nationwide initiative. Extracurricular activities are a large part of the culture of Corbin Independent Schools with many opportunities offered at each of our schools. |
