KSB helps students who are blind and visually impaired to develop their talents, their skills, and attitudes and thus become confident, competent, and independent adults. After graduation, many students go on to college or technical training schools; others go immediately into full-time jobs. |

- At the High School level, implement the Kentucky Core Academic Standards in Science, & the Expanded Core Curriculum to students who are blind & visually impaired at the Kentucky School for the Blind.
- Prepare units, lesson plans & curriculum documents for delivery of instruction.
- Develop & implement individual education programs for assigned students.
- Prepare achievement reports of student progress at required intervals throughout school years.
- Be assessment literate by developing high quality summative assessments aligned with state standards, implement high quality formative assessments in the classroom.
- Adhere to characteristics of highly effective teaching & learning.
- Be evaluated on the current state adopted teacher evaluation tool.
- Earn 24 hours of professional development annually.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must hold a valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate with the Education and Professional Standards Board. Applicants must possess certification to teach High School Science. Certification to teach students who are blind/visually impaired is preferred. If person does not possess VI certification, must obtain VI certification within 4 years of start date.
SALARY: Follows JCPS 23-24 Salary Schedule. Dependent upon qualifications, training and experience. |
