KSB helps students who are blind and visually impaired to develop their talents, their skills, and attitudes and thus become confident, competent, and independent adults. After graduation, many students go on to college or technical training schools; others go immediately into full-time jobs. |

Outreach Consultant
•Provides statewide outreach consultation, assessment services, professional development opportunities & support for families, district personnel, & community members to support students who are DeafBlind.
•Provides consultation & technical assistance to district staff. Attends Admissions & Release Committee meetings & collaborates with Vocational Rehab & the Ky DeafBlind Project.
•Provides & recommends resources/materials for families & other service providers.
•Collaborates with students’ other service providers including speech therapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, etc.
•Organizes & leads Cadre/PLC meetings for teachers of students who are DeafBlind.
•Provides professional learning opportunities for educators, service providers & families.
•Organizes, leads, & participates in regional or campus events centered upon an educational theme that is aligned to the Kentucky Academic Standards and/or Expanded Core Curriculum.

SALARY:
Dependent upon qualifications, training, and experience. This is a 187 day contracted position. Position is paid using federal funds and will be time limited.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
•A valid Kentucky professional certificate for teaching exceptional children, Grades Primary through 12, or a similar certificate or license from anther state.
•A minimum of three years of experience working with students who are DeafBlind. |
